Qualifications

• Must have a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN).
• Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
• Prefer 2 years’ experience in a long-term care setting.
• Basic computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, procedures or governmental regulations; communicate effectively.
• Ability to define and solve problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing care provided by nursing assistants and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
• Coordinates the nursing care of residents on the unit, ensuring all residents have a capable nurse aide.
• Administers and documents medications and treatments according to schedules.
• Performs nursing assessments and notifies physicians of changes in status.
• Develops care plans based on assessment; participates in performance evaluations and staff scheduling.
