Job summary

Sans Souci and Rehabiliation Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Recreation to join their team in overseeing the development, implementation, and supervision of the full scope of the facility’s recreation services.

The role focuses on inclusive programs that improve residents’ quality of life across physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs, while training staff and volunteers for clinical, quality recreational services.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Recreation experience, preferably in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
• Must enjoy working with the senior population.
• Degree in Recreation Therapy or Activity Director Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, implementing & supervising all recreational services.
• Assist in maintaining and developing recreational budget.
• Plan individual and group recreation services, both therapeutic and general.
• Create monthly calendar for assisted living program.
• Coordinate activities for residents including community trips.
• Assist in supervising all recreation staff and volunteers/interns.
• Assist in documentation (clinical and administrative).
• Provide motivation and guidance to employees.
• Organize and execute special and community events.
• Attend interdisciplinary and management team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Recreation.
