Job summary

Lighthouse at Lincoln in Rhode Island is seeking a Certified Medication Technician for the 3pm-11pm shift (Full Time, 37 hours/week). You will dispense medications, document entries, and notify the nurse as required by state regulations and community policy.

The role requires Med Aide/LMNA certification (or applicable training), CPR/First Aid, and strong computer literacy to document services and manage a community tracking system.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the course as required by State Regulation to administer medication, CPR and First Aid training.
• Current Med Aide or LMNA certification/license or completed required training as dictated by State Regulation.
• Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
• Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software.

Responsibilities

• Dispense unit dose medications, make record entries, and notify the nurse for self-administered medications per state rules and Community Policy.
• Order and receive medications per State regulation and LCB policies.
• Assist Residents with ADLs including toileting, dressing, bathing, eating and walking.
• Monitor changes in resident needs and report to RN or designee.
• Assist Residents with clothing and laundry per service plan.
• Supervise or assist Residents with activities.
• Help Residents to bed at night as needed.
• Keep units neat, clean and orderly.
• Document services in the community computer tracking system.
• Conduct programming for cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity and spiritual connection.
• Participate in ongoing in-service training programs.
• Escort Residents to meals and activities as needed.
• Document incidents, behaviors and unusual events.
