Job summary

Senior Lifestyle in Oregon is seeking a Medication Technician to support the Assisted Living community with safe medication administration, ADL assistance, and routine nursing care. The role ensures MAR/TAR accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.

You will collaborate with the health and wellness team, document care in daily logs, restock meds, and participate in staff training. A high school diploma and state-certified Medication Technician credentials are required; English

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1+ months of experience; Senior Living preferred.
• Current Medication Technician certification as per state.
• Proficiency in English for communication and emergencies.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills; team player.

Responsibilities

• Supervise self-administered medication in accordance with regulations and company guidelines.
• Count and sign narcotics with approved personnel; report discrepancies.
• Order medications and notify when supply is low.
• Notify supervisor when stock is low and not received.
• Receive and verify medications per pharmacy label and MAR.
• Store medications properly; separate from oral meds.
• Date vials; follow pharmacy protocols on use-by dates.
• Weekly medication inspections; remove expired meds.
• Verify MARs during changeover; report discrepancies.
• Remove discontinued medications; hand to supervisor.
• Provide personal care and general nursing tasks (ADLs, vitals).
• Document in daily log; notify supervisor of concerns.
• Answer calls and assist residents.
• Daily and weekly cleaning of medicine carts.
