Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in Hawaii Kai is seeking a Maintenance Technician to care for the physical plant, grounds, and resident units. You will perform basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks and help with turnovers, painting, and cleaning as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and a customer-service mindset when assisting residents, families, and staff. Prior maintenance exposure and a passion for senior care are preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in building maintenance, maintenance, and/or housekeeping preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to operate MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.
• Written and verbal communication with staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Assist with apartment turnovers – painting, carpet cleaning, pressure washing.
• Maintain grounds including pool and spa.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment following safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with coworkers and other departments.
