Job summary

Mission Park Healthcare Center is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support daily upkeep and repairs in a resident-centered setting. The role emphasizes safe, cost-effective maintenance of the facility in compliance with health standards and policies.

You will perform routine repairs, coordinate with nursing staff, and assist in cleaning and upkeep of resident areas. Strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Maintenance apprenticeship desirable.
• Medical clearance or physician clearance required upon employment.
• Must be in good physical and mental health.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintains facility by repairing walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, mirrors, windows, removing trash, etc.
• Moves furniture to complete assignments.
• Coordinates daily maintenance with nursing services in resident areas.
• Assist in terminal cleaning of resident rooms on transfer, discharge, or death.
• Follow maintenance schedule and established procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems.
• Complete maintenance request slips for supervisor.
• Maintain grounds, parking areas and driveways.
• Replace burnt-out light bulbs, including exit and overhead lights.
• Assist in Preventative Maintenance Program and equipment upkeep.
• May be on-call weekends/holidays.
• Handle unscheduled or emergency maintenance tasks as directed.
• Assist in smooth operation of maintenance department.
