Job summary

Goodworks Unlimited in North Carolina is seeking a maintenance associate who genuinely enjoys working with seniors and takes pride in maintaining a safe, comfortable living environment. Daily tasks include general maintenance, light electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work, carpet shampooing, and assisting residents with basic technology.

You will prepare apartments for new occupants, maintain a clean shop, respond to emergencies, and support preventative maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance or facilities maintenance preferred for senior living environments.

Responsibilities

• Performing general maintenance such as replacing light bulbs.
• Handling minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, trash services, and appliance repairs.
• All work completed in a safe, workmanlike manner that never compromises resident safety.
• Keep tools and equipment clean and in proper working order.
• Prepare apartments for new occupants through painting and general maintenance.
• Maintain an orderly maintenance shop.
• Shampoo carpets as requested.
• Respond to emergencies during off-hours.
• Follow company guidelines for preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensure resident satisfaction by completing all maintenance and non-maintenance requests in a timely manner (e.g., installing bookshelves, window treatments, fixtures).
• Assist residents with basic technology needs like phones, TVs, and tablets, along with other duties as assigned.
