Cardinal Bay is seeking a Maintenance Assistant at Village on the Park Steeplechase in Houston to keep the community's physical assets clean and functional. You will perform repairs, routine upkeep, and collaborate with the supervisor to complete work orders and make-ready vacant units.

The role requires 1-2 years of related experience, basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, and the ability to read manuals. Full-time, benefits included, with rotating on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1-2 years of related maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance work orders assigned.
• Make-ready vacant resident rooms as directed.
• Coordinate special projects as directed by the Supervisor.
• Oversee work by outside contractors as instructed.
• Carry pager/cell phone for on-call maintenance; perform 24-hour emergencies.
• Perform cleaning activities as directed.
• Install appliances and equipment.
• Maintain garden/yard upkeep as scheduled.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
• Ensure safety standards comply with guidelines.
• Report safety or maintenance issues to leadership.
