Job summary

All American Assisted Living is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare high-quality meals for residents in a senior living setting. You will follow established menus and recipes while adhering to dietary requirements and food safety standards.

You will work in a team-oriented kitchen, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and supporting meal service and special events as needed. This role emphasizes meaningful work serving older adults and requires reliability and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, senior living, or similar food service environment.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and food safety practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and production schedules.
• Ability to prepare meals for individuals with different dietary needs.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, menus, and production schedules.
• Ensure meals are prepared on time and meet quality and presentation standards.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection-control, and kitchen safety requirements.
• Prepare meals that accommodate residents’ dietary needs, restrictions, and preferences.
• Review menus and production sheets before meal preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food and ingredients.
• Monitor food temperatures and complete required documentation.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and maintaining food supplies.
• Monitor inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Work closely with Dining Services staff to support smooth meal service.
• Assist with special events, holiday meals, and resident programs as needed.
• Complete additional kitchen and food service duties as assigned
