Job summary

The Avalon of New Albany is seeking a hospitality-focused Cook to join our team. This role covers full-scope, hands-on production cooking in the Community Culinary Services Department, ensuring high quality service and cleanliness at all times.

Responsibilities include following community standards, preparing meals that meet dietary criteria, and assisting with service and ware washing. A high school diploma is required and a culinary degree is preferred; at least one year of cooking experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Culinary degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent cooking experience.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify cleanliness, sanitation and organization per Community standards.
• Maintain food quality, appearance and presentation to standards at all times.
• Prepare and serve menu cycle programs meeting nutritional/dietary criteria as required by local regulations.
• Demonstrate speed, accuracy and efficiency in cooking.
• Show knowledge of cooking preparation and production across kitchens.
• Assist with serving meals and ware washing as needed.
• Visit residents to evaluate food service: quality, quantity, temperature and appearance; adjust operations accordingly.
• Represent the community warmly to support a positive marketing environment.
• Support a culture where decisions and engagement drive revenue and occupancy.
