Job summary

Compass Senior Living in Oregon seeks a Dining Services Director to lead the dining operation for our residents. You will oversee menu development, purchasing, budgeting, inventory, and sanitation, while partnering with the Culinary Specialist to craft meals that meet nutritional needs and resident preferences.

You will mentor a dining team, interview and onboard staff, ensure safety standards, and collaborate with marketing, nursing, and Life Enrichment to showcase meals at events.

Qualifications

• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Kindness and desire to work with the elderly.
• Food Handler's card or ability to obtain one.
• Formally trained in food service management or the culinary arts, or equivalent experience.
• Full-time attendance capability and ability to meet health requirements.
• Good verbal communication and English literacy with residents and coworkers.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee menu development, purchasing, budgeting, and inventory control.
• Create menus in partnership with the Culinary Specialist and team.
• Inspire the dining team through collaboration and teamwork.
• Promote kindness and empathy for residents.
• Collaborate with marketing, nursing, and Life Enrichment for events involving food.
• Supervise, interview, and onboard Dining Services staff.
• Ensure safety and sanitation policies are followed.
