Job summary

Charter Senior Living of Winder is seeking a hands-on Dining Services Director to launch our brand-new senior living community and build a dining program from the ground up. You will recruit, train, and lead a culinary team, establish kitchen and dining room operations, and manage budgets to deliver outstanding resident dining experiences.

The role requires ServSafe certification and prior culinary management experience, with a leadership emphasis in opening a new community and delivering

Qualifications

• Previous management or supervisory experience in culinary, dining services, hospitality, or food service operations.
• ServSafe certification is required.
• Experience managing food service budgets, purchasing, inventory, or food costs.
• Experience managing employee staffing, scheduling, and daily operations.
• Strong culinary and food service knowledge; understanding food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to train, coach, and develop employees; take ownership of department operations.
• Willingness to participate in Manager-on-Duty rotation.

Responsibilities

• New Community Dining Setup & Opening Preparation: help establish the Dining Services department before opening.
• Culinary Operations & Resident Dining Experience: oversee daily kitchen and dining room operations; plan nutritious meals and menus.
• Leadership & Staffing: lead, supervise, coach, and develop culinary staff; manage scheduling and performance.
• Budget Management & Operational Efficiency: develop and manage budgets; monitor costs, purchasing, and inventory.
• Food Safety, Sanitation & Compliance: maintain safety standards, proper storage, handling, and documentation.
