Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Dietary Supervisor to oversee health center food service, develop menus, supervise staff, and ensure nutritious meals. The role supports a dedicated team delivering high-quality resident care within a community setting.

The position requires a high school diploma, safety and sanitation certification, and at least two years of supervisory experience in healthcare food service. Local residency and weekend availability may be needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years supervisory experience in health care food service settings.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified in safety and sanitation for food service.
• Experience in a long-term health care environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and empathy toward residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to interpret menus and coordinate meal service.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and supervising Health Center dietary staff.
• Assist in developing all menus and standardized recipes for Health Center residents, assessing preferences and nutritional needs.
• Determine amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus, placing orders and ensuring timely delivery.
• Provide on-the-job training for Health Center dietary staff.
• Develop work assignments for all dietary staff and monitor adherence to standards.
• Ensure completion of hall trays and accuracy of meal tallies.
• Coordinate with the dietitian for unplanned or special therapeutic menus.
• Assign cleaning schedules daily and supervise sanitation practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
