Job summary

South Port Square in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a hospitality-driven Dietary Aide to prepare and serve therapeutic diet trays for health centre residents. You will assist with dessert preparation, meal service, and safe transport of foods and supplies.

The role requires 18+ and experience in nursing home food service is preferred; strong teamwork and communication are essential for interacting with residents, families and staff on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred.
• Can understand measurements and conversions.
• Are team players!
• Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
• Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required.
• Serves meals in the health centre.
• Sets up tables in the health centre dining room and breaks down same after meal.
• Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health centre.
• Transport all required nonfood items to and from the health centre.
• Maintains station equipment and work area in safe and sanitary condition.
• Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

About The Role

The Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving therapeutic diet trays to health centre residents in accordance with posted therapeutic diet menus.

Salary: From $15.75 per hour
