Job summary

Absaroka Senior Living in Cody, Wyoming is seeking an experienced Dietary Director to lead our Food and Nutrition Services department. You will oversee daily operations, staffing, sanitation, and regulatory compliance while ensuring resident meals meet individual needs and physician orders.

This leadership role focuses on budgeting, staff development, and quality improvement, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to deliver nutritious, appealing dining experiences for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Degree or formal education in food service management, nutrition, dietetics, hospitality, culinary services, or related field preferred
• Must meet applicable federal and Wyoming requirements for the individual responsible for food and nutrition services
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential preferred, or ability to meet applicable qualification requirements

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee daily operations of the Food and Nutrition Services department
• Ensure meals are prepared and served safely, timely, and per established menus
• Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian, nursing, and interdisciplinary team regarding residents' nutritional needs
• Develop staff schedules that maintain appropriate departmental coverage while managing labor
• Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and feedback
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and healthcare requirements
• Coordinate menus with the Registered Dietitian and clinical staff
• Manage departmental budget, purchasing, and inventory controls
• Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement activities
• Promote resident-centered dining and quality of life in meal service
