Job summary

Eastern Healthcare Group in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Cook to prepare meals in accordance with resident diet specifications and facility procedures. Under the supervision of the Dietary Director, you will ensure safe, appetizing meals for residents and staff.

You will handle large-quantity food preparation, maintain strict sanitation, monitor portion control, and support special events as directed. The role requires reliability, teamwork, and attention to resident well-being, with opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent related work experience.
• Minimum of one year related experience in preparing foods in large quantities.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Meet physical and sensory requirements and work in the described environment.
• Prepare and cook resident meals in quantities according to menu and servings.
• Clean work area and equipment according to sanitation requirements.
• Prepare foods for facility personnel, families, visitors, and special occasions as directed.
• Inspect recipes, portion controls, and meal presentation for quality and accuracy.
• Attend in-service education programs to meet facility requirements.
