Job summary

LCB Senior Living's The Residence at Basking Ridge in New Jersey is seeking a Cook for full-time or per diem hours. The role offers a wage band of $25.00–$28.25 per hour based on experience, with benefits from day one.

You will work closely with the Culinary Services Director to prepare meals, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure a restaurant-style dining experience for residents while maintaining high sanitation standards and accurate food handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 1–3 years cooking experience in hospitality or healthcare.
• Serve Safe Certification required.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guides; maintain logs and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and promote a restaurant-style dining atmosphere.
• Assist with supervision of culinary staff.
• Prepare and execute dining programs and menu items.
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and storage areas.
• Open and close the kitchen and adhere to cleaning schedules.
• Document temperatures and ensure proper food handling.
• Assist with events, banquets, and theme meals.
