Job summary

Hope Springs in Red Springs, NC is seeking an experienced Cook to prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents, following dietary plans and resident preferences.

You will work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service, maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen, and help train new staff. We offer competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, PTO, professional development, life insurance, and EAP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience cooking in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation according to menu plans and dietary requirements.
• Meal service in a timely manner with portions and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen and proper storage.
• Collaborate with Dietary Manager and train new kitchen staff as needed.
• Assist with inventory management and reporting shortages.
• Respond to special dietary requests and resident preferences.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
