Job summary

The Stratford is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents at The Stratford. This role focuses on preparing meals, serving residents, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen in a senior living environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality. Knowledge of food safety standards and strong time-management skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal Service: Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service. Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
• Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and help track food supplies. Report shortages or order needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences, ensuring satisfaction with meals served.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
