Job summary

Atria Senior Living is seeking a Cook for our dining services team at Holiday by Atria in Matthews. You will prepare nutritious meals for residents, follow established menus and recipes, and ensure a smooth, safe kitchen operation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least two years in a kitchen, strong English communication, and basic computer skills. We offer paid holidays, PTO, health insurance, retirement plan, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in industry or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Ability to prepare and follow Holiday recipes.
• Effective communication in English and excellent customer service skills.
• General knowledge of and ability to conform to sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Basic Computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for residents following Holiday menus and recipes, ensuring portion-control standards.
• Oversee preparation and set-up of serving carts to serve nutritious food, attractively garnished, and on time.
• Follow food safety handling procedures and proper labeling, dating, and storage of food.
• Ensure logs are accurately completed (refrigerator, freezer, and production sheets).
• Follow Holiday sanitation standards by cleaning preparation and serving areas, pots, pans, surfaces, walls, and floors.
• Focus on resident satisfaction and resolve any food-related issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
