Job summary

Distinctive Living’s Mira Vie at Warren location is hiring a Cook for part-time and full-time roles. Experience in senior living/assisted living is required. The Cook works under the Director of Restaurant and Hospitality to ensure quality meals, service, and adherence to special diets for residents.

The position emphasizes safe food handling, accurate meal service, and teamwork within the dining area. Competitive benefits are offered as part of joining our caring community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in food service required.
• Minimum of three years' experience in food service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Director with planning, directing and coaching in the Food Service Department.
• Follows the Menu Program and buying practices; adheres to special diets.
• Responds to resident likes/dislikes to maintain high satisfaction.
• Maintains food temperatures and safety standards during production and service.
• Ensures staff delivers quality service and monitors resident dining experience.
• Provides input on new hires and staff training in the dietary department.
• Keeps kitchen clean and equipment properly maintained.
• Ensures safety and hazard controls are followed by staff.
• Fosters teamwork and a positive impact on residents and coworkers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
