Otterbein is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our not-for-profit retirement community in Ohio. You will participate in menu planning, food preparation, cooking and serving to residents, guests, and partners under strict sanitary standards.

As a valued member of our team, you’ll help maintain high quality, coordinate with other food service staff to reduce waste, and ensure timely service on all shifts. We offer competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within our caring culture.

Competenze

• Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years' cooking experience in LTC or similar setting preferred.

Mansioni

• Read menus to estimate food requirements.
• Prepare and cook food per company standards.
• Measure ingredients and use kitchen utensils/equipment.
• Bake, roast, steam, broil, fry meats, fish, vegetables.
• Season food and adjust recipes with supervisor.
• Ensure proper doneness by tasting and checking temps.
• Carve meats and portion foods; add gravies/sauces.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of equipment and area.
• Coordinate with staff to minimize waste and ensure service.
