Otterbein SeniorLife in Ohio is seeking a Cook to join our not-for-profit retirement community. You will participate in preparing and serving meals to residents and guests under strict sanitary conditions, with duties spanning from ingredient prep to final plating.

The role requires 2–5 years of cooking experience in LTC or a similar setting, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work a full-time swing shift (4:45am-1:15pm or 9am-5:30pm).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 2–5 years cooking experience in LTC or similar setting preferred.
• Ability to maintain sanitary cooking conditions and safety standards.

Responsabilités

• Reads menu to estimate food requirements and procures food from storage.
• Prepares and cooks food in accordance with company standards.
• Measures and mixes ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare soups, salads and other menu items.
• Bakes, roasts, steams and fries meats, fish, poultry, vegetables and other foods.
• Assists in recipe adjustments and ensures proper doneness by tasting and temperature checks.
• Carves meats and portions food for serving with garnishes and gravies.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and work area.
• Coordinates with other staff to prevent waste and support service line efficiency.
