Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking a full-time Cook for our Michigan senior living community. You will prepare meals for residents and guests, following menus, recipes and events, while maintaining high food quality and safety standards.

The position runs 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, with opportunities for growth within the culinary team. Ideal candidates have at least three years of line cook experience and strong communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical schooling supported.
• Minimum of three years of line cook experience or training.
• Good communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees.
• Prepare food according to planned menus and standard recipes.
• Plate items with proper portions and garnishing and maintain station readiness.
• Assist other kitchen staff and perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure adequate prepped/prepared food and communicate shortages.
• Maintain freshness, proper seasoning, and cooking status of all foods.
• Stock and clean station for next shift; follow food rotation policies.
• Present a professional appearance in uniform with name tag.
