Qualifications

• Serve Safe Certification required.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food preparation.
• Knowledge of cooking times and temperatures per state guidelines.
• Knowledge of various cuts of meat and seasonings.
• Experience in cooking for seniors and dietary needs.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals for residents within scheduled time frames.
• Cleans and maintains kitchen and dining areas.
• Assists Culinary Services Director with inventory control.
• Supervises servers in the absence of the Culinary Services Director.
• Maintains knowledge of kitchen equipment and safe operation.
• Ensures resident diets are followed and meals accounted for daily.
• Reports loss, breakage or waste to the Culinary Service Director.
• Works with minimal supervision and can cook large quantities.
• Maintains professional demeanor under stress.
