Job summary

Arvum Senior Living in Illinois is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our dining team across our senior living communities. You will prepare hot and cold menu items, manage grill, sauté, salad-bar stations, and serve meals with a friendly, timely approach to residents and guests.

Experience in senior living is preferred; strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, safety and portion control knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Senior Living preferred.
• Experience with production methods, portion control and food handling safety required.
• Great organizational skills a must.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and presentation of food product is required.
• Must be able to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items on grill, sauté, salad-bar and service line.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning and serving as per menu and recipes.
• Taste and monitor food quality and palatability.
• Take meal/drink orders and serve meals in a friendly, timely manner.
• Ensure residents and guests are satisfied with meals.
• Maintain knowledge of specials and generic food item descriptions.
• Maintain dining stations and dining areas; follow cleaning schedules.
