Meridian Senior Living is seeking a Cook to join our community dining team. You will work with the Dining Services Manager on food ordering, preparation, delivery and kitchen sanitation, ensuring meals are nutritious and appealing.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, 6 months’ food service experience, and a heart for serving the elderly. Teamwork, reliability, and clear communication with residents and staff are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; complete training as required by state regulations.
• Six months’ prior experience in a food service department preferred.
• Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must meet health requirements and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• As a Cook, work closely with the Dining Services Manager on food ordering, preparation, and delivery as well as kitchen sanitation.
• Ensure food is prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion, maintain supplies and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
