Job summary

Compass Senior Living is seeking a Cook to support meal preparation, delivery, and kitchen cleanliness in our elder-residents communities. You will work under the Dining Services Director to ensure nutritious, appetizing meals and a welcoming dining experience for residents and families.

You should be formally trained in the culinary arts or have equivalent cooking experience, with a willingness to learn, teamwork, and the ability to obtain a food handlers permit as required by state

Qualifications

• Formally trained in the culinary arts or equivalent cooking experience.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Food handlers permit or ability to obtain one as required by state regulations.
• Read/write/speak English with residents and coworkers who speak English.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Prep and prepare meals under the guidance of the Dining Services Director.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, appetizing, and attractively presented.
• Help orient new team members and assist with scheduling.
• Greet elders, families, visitors, and team members warmly.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas and equipment.
• Adhere to infection control and foodborne illness prevention procedures.
