Job summary

Compass Senior Living in Illinois is seeking a Cook/Dining Aide to support meal preparation, delivery, and kitchen cleanliness in a respectful elder care environment.

You will work under the Dining Services Director to prepare nutritious meals, present attractively, maintain clean, safe workspaces, and assist with onboarding and scheduling. A food handler permit or ability to obtain one is required, with background check as part of hiring.

Qualifications

• Formally trained in the culinary arts or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers.
• Willingness to learn and work within a team.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals under supervision of the Dining Services Director.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, appetizing, and attractively presented.
• Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
• Assist orienting new team members and scheduling.
• Adhere to infection control and food safety procedures.
