Beth Anne Place in Chicago is seeking a dependable Cook to join our culinary team, preparing nutritious meals for residents with a focus on safety and quality. You’ll work with a team to deliver meals that meet dietary guidelines and resident preferences.

Expect 10-hour daytime shifts, four days per week, and every other weekend availability. Prior cooking or food service experience and knowledge of sanitation are preferred, with opportunities to contribute to events and celebrations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in cooking or food preparation.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Willingness to work 10-hour daytime shifts, four days per week and every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served safely, consistently, and on time.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• Accommodate resident dietary needs and special meal requirements as directed.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food.
• Assist with kitchen inventory, food storage, and restocking supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with dietary team members to provide an enjoyable resident dining experience.
• Communicate resident preferences, concerns, and dietary needs appropriately.
• Assist with meal preparation for special events and community celebrations as needed.
