Dial Senior Living is seeking an experienced Cook to independently prepare meals and manage daily food production for residents. You will support the Sous or Executive Chef in delivering high-quality food while upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities include meal preparation, recipe adaptations for dietary needs, ensuring plate presentation, and coordinating with the team to plan menus. The role emphasizes sanitation, inventory, and adherence to kitchen regulations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals for residents with attention to quality and presentation.
• Alter or adapt recipes to accommodate special dining needs of residents or to improve recipes.
• Ensure attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
• Identify food and supplies needed for the next week’s menus and report to the supervisor.
• Participate in new menu and special menu planning.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and kitchen/storage areas.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control.
• Prepare meats for storage and portion control upon delivery. Ensure proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients.
• Assist with dishwashing and kitchen sanitation, as needed.
• Notify manager of food supply needs and malfunctioning equipment or appliances.
• Assist in the recording of Ready – to – Use – food items into the TELS website.
• Record cooler, freezer and dish machine temperatures in the TELS website.
• Report any on-the-job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs.
• Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations and personnel.
• Other duties as assigned.
