Job summary

Townsend Park Health & Rehab is seeking a full-time kitchen associate to prepare meals for elderly residents and support dietary needs. You will work with dieticians to follow menus, operate standard kitchen equipment, and maintain cleanliness while ensuring meals are served on time.

Starting pay is $15.75/hour with weekly pay and benefits including PTO, holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) with match, and a referral program. A high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
• Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepares various foods according to menus created by dieticians for each meal of the day.
• Operates kitchen equipment in preparation for meals (e.g., mixer, meat slicer, food processor, oven, steamer).
• Cleans work surfaces after shifts and stores unused foods.
• Cooks meals appropriate for the elderly and in large quantities using institutional-sized cookware.
• Maintains infection control and keeps equipment clean at all times.
• Assists in supplying diet changes and ensuring meals are prepared and served on time.
