Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor in Houston, TX is seeking a Cook to support our senior living community. You will prepare meals for residents and staff, follow diet plans, and ensure safe food handling practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; reading/writing and basic math skills for recipes.
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions and diet instructions.
• Familiar with preparing food in quantities and following menus.
• Knowledge of routine diets and where to find needed information.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment and use utensils efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for residents, guests, and staff according to menus and diet regulations.
• Serve food from production line during meal periods with proper portions and presentation.
• Keep workstation clean and sanitized; assist with other cleaning duties as needed.
• Store orders and supplies properly; label prepared foods.
• Assist with related utility tasks as needed when staff are absent.
• Attend in-service trainings to stay updated on nutrition and dietary requirements.
• Maintain department safety and OSHA standards.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate hospitality towards residents, families, and vendors.
• Be flexible to work in other areas per business needs.
