Job summary

Cedar Ridge Village in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team. The cook will prepare meals per cycle menus, ensure proper food handling, and create a restaurant-style dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities include coordinating meal service, maintaining safety and sanitation, and supporting inventory and compliance with safety and infection control procedures. Strong preference for culinary training and dietary knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent education is required.
• Preference is given to persons with Culinary training and understanding of therapeutic diets.
• Minimum one year of food service experience in a health care dietary setting is desired.
• General knowledge of quantity food preparation, portioning, and services.
• Serv Safe certification must be completed in the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate food preparation and meal service, including nutritional snacks.
• Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods to meet temperature goals during service.
• Plan and initiate cooking schedule to meet meal schedules.
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures and maintain a clean environment.
• Assist with inventory, receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Clean equipment and work areas and follow infection control procedures.
