Job summary

Waterman Village is seeking an experienced Director of Facility Services to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all campus facility operations, including plant operations, maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry services.

This leadership role is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, functional environment for residents, employees, and visitors, while managing staff, budgets, preventive maintenance, regulatory compliance, capital projects, and vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in facility operations, maintenance, or environmental services.
• Ability to manage multiple departments, supervisors, and operating budgets.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and facility safety.
• Experience overseeing vendors, contractors, and capital improvement projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership and oversight of Plant Operations, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate departmental managers and team members.
• Establish departmental goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures.
• Develop staffing plans and schedules to ensure adequate campus coverage and timely service delivery.
• Promote a positive work environment emphasizing teamwork, safety, and resident satisfaction.
• Oversee daily operations, repairs, and maintenance of campus buildings, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for building systems.
• Ensure timely completion of resident and departmental maintenance requests.
• Oversee emergency repairs and coordinate after-hours response.
• Maintain facility readiness, reliability, and long-term asset preservation.
• Direct housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure high standards of cleanliness and service.
• Monitor compliance with infection prevention and environmental safety requirements.
• Oversee budgets, vendor contracts, purchasing, and contractor performance.
• Collaborate with leadership to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
