Job summary

Erickson Senior Living’s Lantern Hill, a continuing care retirement community in New Providence, NJ, seeks an Activities Program Coordinator to stimulate residents’ physical, intellectual, social, and emotional well‑being.

You will design and lead varied programs, supervise staff, coordinate with teams and families, and maintain a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings. Lantern Hill offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities in a mission‑driven, diverse workplace.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an Activities Staff with supervisory experience or 3 years as a Programming Assistant is required.
• Experience leading groups of people with varying levels of physical and cognitive independence, and experience with the elderly is required.
• Flexible work schedule including weekends and evenings is required.
• Certified or eligible for certification (AAC or CTRS – four year degree) preferred.
• APC (Activities Professional Certificate) is preferred.
• Flexible with schedule, available to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan and facilitate varied programs for individuals and groups.
• Escort residents on group trips and ensure safety.
• Collaborate with staff, management, volunteers, and families to deliver programs.
• Assess changes in residents’ needs to provide beneficial and enjoyable activities.
• Lead structured and unstructured activities in activity spaces, common areas, and residents’ rooms.
• Support a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings as determined by Programming Manager.
• Collaborate between independent living and continuing care.
