Job summary

Oakmont of Novato, part of Oakmont Management Group, is a premier senior living community offering five-star services. The Activity Assistant supports organizing and promoting engaging activities that enhance independence and quality of life for residents.

The role involves assisting the Activity Director, recruiting volunteers, ensuring safety, driving community vehicles, and fostering teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C license; Class B or C with Passenger Endorsement preferred.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs.
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including TB tests.
• Vaccination/testing and PPE may be required per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in providing an engaging social atmosphere and promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled activities, excursions, events, and classes.
• Develop, recruit, manage and schedule Community Volunteers as requested.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors with tact and friendliness.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.
• Foster teamwork through cooperative interactions with other departments.
