Job summary

Ivy Park at Playa Vista, part of Ivy Living, is hiring an Activity Coordinator to organize and lead engaging activities for Traditions Memory Care residents on a temporary, on-site basis. The role supports independence and quality of life through creative programs, events, and excursions.

The position requires 18+, a high school diploma, and experience with seniors. Proficiency in MS Office and a valid driver license are preferred; driving duties may be involved.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Vaccination and health screening may be required per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Memory Care Director in providing an engaging social atmosphere with regularly scheduled activities and events.
• Promote resident participation through high-quality activities and excursions.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe, secure environment and follow safety standards.
• Able to drive community vehicles and support teamwork across departments.

The Activity Coordinator is responsible for assisting with organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing the activities and excursions for Traditions Memory Care in order to enhance the residents’ independence and quality of life, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Memory Care Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area. Promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
