Job summary

Owen Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to support planning and delivering recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs aligned with each resident's care plan.

You will work to observe and document resident responses, collaborate with other departments, and maintain a warm, supportive atmosphere throughout the facility. This role requires strong English communication and compassion toward residents.

Qualifications

• Long Term Care Activities experience preferred.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement to evaluate progress and document notes.
• Maintain rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly and create a warm, calm environment.
• Prepare activity spaces for scheduled programs and advise on equipment and supply needs.
• Follow care plans when providing daily activities for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and treat residents with dignity.
• Oversee residents in activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being.
• Assist in-room residents with letters, errands, crafts, and related tasks.
