Job summary

Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to develop and implement engaging activity programs for residents in a caring, supportive environment. You will assist the Activities Director with resident evaluations and plan monthly calendars to promote meaningful engagement.

The role emphasizes patience, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, with opportunities to work closely with residents and staff in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
• CNA license preferred.
• Knowledge of personal computers and software such as Word and Excel.
• Experience in long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement activity programs appropriate to residents’ backgrounds, needs and interests.
• Assist the Activities Director with resident evaluations based on backgrounds and activity interests.
• Document activity plans and progress notes as directed.
• Plan and set up activities, gather supplies, and rearrange spaces as needed.
• Develop and distribute monthly activity calendars and post them throughout the facility.
• Help maintain facility newsletters.
