Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living in Carlsbad is seeking an Activity Assistant to organize, promote, and direct activities and excursions that enhance residents' independence and quality of life. You will support the Activity Director, recruit volunteers, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for seniors.

The role requires a high school diploma, 18+ years old, and the ability to operate MS Office. Prior experience with seniors and a valid Class C license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C license; Class B or Class C with Passenger Endorsement preferred.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Must pass Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests (physical and TB).
• Vaccination and PPE may be required per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in creating a rewarding social atmosphere with regularly scheduled activities, excursions, events, and clubs.
• Develop, recruit, manage, and schedule Community Volunteers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors with tact and friendliness.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment by following established safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles as required.
• Encourage teamwork across departments to enhance resident life.
