The Village at Orchard Ridge, part of National Lutheran Communities & Services, seeks a Full-Time ConnectedLiving (Activities) Coordinator to design and deliver engaging programs for residents in Winchester, VA. You will coordinate a variety of recreational, social, and educational activities aimed at promoting independence and well-being.

Qualifications

• 'Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.'
• "Associate's or Bachelor's in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Social Work or related field preferred."
• "1–2 years experience in activities, recreation, hospitality, senior living, healthcare, or related field preferred."
• "Strong organizational and communication skills."
• "Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members."
• "Basic computer skills; manage activity schedules and documentation."
• "Read and speak English."

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging activities, events, and programs for residents.
• Facilitate fitness classes, arts and crafts, games, educational programs, discussion groups, gardening, music, and social gatherings.
• Encourage resident participation while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Assist with special events, holiday celebrations, outings, and themed community programs.
• Create and distribute activity calendars, newsletters, flyers, and resident communications.
• Collaborate with nursing, dining, and other departments to enhance resident experiences.
• Maintain records related to program participation and activity planning.
• Support community engagement efforts that promote connection, purpose, and lifelong learning.
