Job summary

Cornerstone Management is seeking an Activities Assistant for the Whitefish at the Lakes Community. The role supports seniors’ physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being through engaging programs.

The position is 8:00am-4:30pm with every other weekend and holiday rotation, requiring hands-on, resident-focused involvement. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, experience in activity planning for seniors, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college or relevant training preferred.
• Experience planning and running activities, preferably in a senior living setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort working with older adults and understanding their interests and needs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software.
• MN Commercial Driver’s License with passenger endorsement required.
• Friendly, compassionate, and enthusiastic approach to resident engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and implement a variety of resident activities, events, trips, and celebrations.
• Encourage resident participation and create opportunities for them to share their talents and interests.
• Plan special programs around holidays and other meaningful occasions.
• Communicate and collaborate with staff across departments to coordinate events.
• Prepare a monthly activity calendar and community newsletter.
• Drive residents to scheduled outings, appointments, and errands in the community van/bus.
• Coordinate transportation needs and maintain activity schedules.
• Maintain a positive, welcoming environment and foster strong resident relationships.
