Job summary

Lexington Premier Nursing & Rehab in Lexington, KY is seeking a compassionate Activities Assistant to enhance residents' quality of life by planning and facilitating engaging recreational and therapeutic activities. You will develop individual and group programs, coordinate with nursing staff and therapists, and document participation to support holistic care while promoting safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine enthusiasm for working with seniors.
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead diverse activities and programs.
• Basic knowledge of therapeutic recreation practices is desirable.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Activity Planning and Implementation: Develop and organize a variety of individual and group activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs.
• Resident Interaction: Build positive relationships with residents and their families to understand their preferences and encourage participation in activities.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of resident participation and document outcomes of activities.
• Collaboration: Work closely with nursing staff and therapists to coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to resident activities.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with facility policies and safety regulations.
