Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer a degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Eligible for NC license as an occupational therapist or assistant therapist, or NC Certification as a recreation therapist or assistant therapist, or completion of a 36-hour or longer course in activities program management.
• Previous Activities Director or Long Term Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, promotes, and leads activities based on residents' needs and interests.
• Informs residents and families about the Activity Program.
• Completes activities assessment per policies.
• Conducts recreational activities indoors and outdoors.
• Supervises scheduling and posting of events to encourage participation.
• Supervises Volunteer Program and training of volunteers.
