Job summary

Liberty Healthcare Management seeks an experienced Activity Director for our Elizabethtown, NC facility. The role focuses on planning and leading resident activities, informing families, and conducting a range of educational and recreational programs for residents.

The position requires a high school diploma, preferably a Recreation Therapy degree, and NC licensure or related credentials. Prior long-term care experience is a plus, with strong teamwork, computer, and documentation skills expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prefer a degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Eligible for NC license or certification as a recreation therapist or for a related credential.
• Prior Activities Director and long term care experience preferred.
• Willing to work well with others and demonstrate teamwork.
• Strong computer skills and ability to multitask with residents and staff.
• Experience documenting with MDS, progress notes, and participation records.
• Ability to work under pressure and use supplies economically.
• Valid NC Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plans, promotes, and leads individual and group activities for residents.
• Informs new patients and families about the Activity Program.
• Completes an Activities Assessment for each resident per policies.
• Conducts recreational activities indoors and outdoors.
• Conducts educational, creative, expressive activities and exercise.
• Supervises scheduling and posting of events to encourage participation.
• Supervises Volunteer Program including training and placement of volunteers.
