Liberty Healthcare Management Weldon, NC seeks an Activities Director to plan, promote, and lead resident activities, enhancing daily life and engagement. You will coordinate indoor/outdoor programs and supervise volunteers.

The role requires a high school diploma, a preferred Recreational Therapy degree, NC licensing/certification options, and strong computer and documentation skills to track participation and outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer a degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Eligible for NC license as an occupational therapist or assistant therapist, or NC Certification as a recreation therapist.
• Previous Activities Director, and/or Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to multitask alongside residents and staff.
• Experience in documentation with MDS, progress notes, participation records, etc.
• Valid NC Driver’s License.

ACTIVITY DIRECTOR

Full Time, Days

Job Description:

• Plans, promotes, and leads individual and group activities based on needs and interests of the residents.
• Informs new patients and families about the Activity Program of the Facility and unit.
• Completes an Activities Assessment on each designated resident according to documentation policies and procedures.
• Conducts recreational activities, both indoor and outdoor.
• Conducts educational, creative, expressive activities and exercise.
• Supervises scheduling and posting of all events and programs in a manner to encourage participation and enthusiasm among residents.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer a degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Eligible for a NC license as an occupational therapist or assistant therapist, or eligible for NC Certification as a recreation therapist or assistant therapist, or someone who has completed an approved 36-hour or longer course in activities program management, or an individual receiving at least four hours consultation per month from a qualified occupational therapist or recreational therapist.
• Previous Activities Director, and/or Long Term Care experience preferred.
• Willing to work and cooperate well with other employees.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to multitask alongside residents and staff.
• Experience in documentation with MDS, progress notes, participation records, etc.
• Ability to work well under pressure and use supplies economically.
• Valid NC Driver’s License.
