Job summary

Dogwood Village of Orange County in Orange, VA, seeks an Activities Director to plan, organize, and conduct activities that meet residents’ mental, social, creative, and recreational needs. You will work with the Director of Resident Activities to provide engaging programs and daily coordination.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, valid Driver’s License, and CPR/First Aid within 90 days. CNA certification is required; familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent (required).
• Current, valid Driver’s License (required).
• CPR and Basic First Aid certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• CNA Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Research and select activities according to residents' interests to maximize participation.
• Interview residents/families and complete Activities Assessments at admission.
• Plan, organize, direct, and conduct daily activities with staff input.
• Set up activity rooms and post calendars for events.
• Encourage participation and assist residents to events.
• Document participation and resident progress in Activity Records.
• Visit residents individually to provide stimulation and orientation as needed.
• Assist with welcoming new residents and notifying changes in care level.
