Nazareth Home in Louisville is seeking an Activities Assistant to support residents through meaningful, medically‑approved recreation programs. This role promotes social engagement, emotional well‑being, and participation in therapeutic activities.

The Activities Assistant helps plan, organize, and lead daily activities that meet physical, cognitive, and social needs. Ideal candidates are energetic, patient, and passionate about aging adults in long‑term care.

Qualifications

• One to two years’ experience and/or training.
• Certification from state approved course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead group activities such as arts & crafts, games, music, drama, and light exercise.
• Adapt activities to residents’ abilities and care plans.
• Assist with sensory stimulation, art therapy, and music therapy programs.
• Teach simple relaxation and stress-reduction techniques.
• Help create the monthly activity calendar.
• Document resident participation and progress for the care team.
• Support volunteers and student interns.
• Manage activity supplies and equipment needs.
