Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Programming/Activity Assistant to organize and implement programs that meet the needs of residents. The role supports the Activity Director and helps promote self-esteem in a caring environment.

You will develop engaging activities seven days a week, lead various group sizes, and encourage participation while understanding residents’ backgrounds and abilities. A team-focused culture awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience and training to develop programs for elders and disabled individuals
• Knowledge of aging and disability issues
• Training in recreational activities and dementia care
• Discretion and confidentiality in handling resident information
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks under pressure

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a seven-day activity program that is engaging
• Lead one-on-one, small group and large group activities according to the schedule
• Support independent activity pursuits for residents
• Consider residents' backgrounds, abilities, interests and cognitive capacity
• Encourage attendance and participation in programming
• Communicate changes in resident condition to the Harbor Care Director
• Stay with the group during excursions
